This Past Year

Because I have not posted anything in a while, I decided to make a summary of our last year, a sort of a (late) Christmas letter.

We started 2014 with a trip to Monterey, CA where we visited the aquarium and went on the 17-mile drive. The boys enjoyed the trip very much and we plan to go back someday...

In February we took the boys to Disneyland to celebrate Isaac's Birthday and we also had a party with a few friends and family.

In April we met their Papa in Las Vegas, where Andrew wanted to go to see "the pyramid," as he is much fascinated with ancient Egypt and everything related to it. Since we cannot go to Egypt (maybe one day) we decided Vegas would to it :). We had a wonderful time, and even though Isaac was fighting a cold/cough he was a happy camper through the trip.

On Easter, Grampa was still with us and we had a wonderful family time. The boys love their cousins, and they truly enjoy every moment we spend with family. As the littlest grows older he is a part of the mix and they find ways to interact in spite of the different ages/stages.

May/June marked the end of a successful school year for the boys. Isaac did well in his preschool - which he likes very much and they had a cute singing presentation; he is quite the performer with beautiful smiles  and charming looks.

Andrew had a great year at Kindergarten, with being a Spelathon winner ( kids have to sound letters and spell correctly 100 words and he got 100% right). He also received a prize for "Good Manner and Positive attitude."

Then SUMMER came and brought much swimming, trips to the beach and other adventures...

And back to school, soccer and music...
Andrew is in his second year of piano and Isaac started cello. Isaac also has an Ukalele that he likes to play just for fun on and Andrew likes to play with bongos and drums. Andrew also is singing in the church and school choirs.

For Halloween, guess who were the Ninjas trick-or-treating in the neighborhood...

We celebrated Andrew's 7th birthday on Jumping Jacks ...

And the end of the year always comes so fast. Here we are on Christmas!!!!!

Andrew's Birthday Party

We had a great time at the Randall Planetarium (Mt SAC). The party started at 11am with food; at 12pm all the adults and kids were taken inside the planetarium to watch a 40-minute show about the solar system; it was very educational and everyone was so quiet and interested, it was awesome. After that kids were instructed to build their own rockets  and then we all went outside to shoot them up. We were thrilled to see how high they could go - it was quite impressive. And the party was complete with the happy birthday song and cake. Andrew loved his party and all of the gifts he received!

 Brotherly love under the stars!

After a fun and hot Summer though, now we are again in full school mode. Andrew started Kindergarten and Isaac is at a different Preschool (and for the first time without big brother being there). Both of them are adjusting well. Here are some pictures...

 Ready for Kindergarten!

Ready for his first official soccer game. Daddy is the coach, by the way and is doing a great job. The Smashers (that's the team's name) won the first game!

Two of my favorite shots of our boys...

Summer Fun!

We have been busy this Summer with various activities. The boys are in Summer school for 3 hours a day (Andrew 4x, Isaac 3x a week) and they have been doing some private swimming lessons as well. One thing that has been really nice is that we now leave in a cul-de-sac with great neighbors and every evening the kids ride their bikes/scooters there. We also have been to the beach a number of times and going on some weekend trips (pictured below).

Vacation at Venice Beach included watching TV...

 lots of sight-seeing...

and being at the beach of course!

This Summer we also planted a garden and Andrew and Isaac were thrilled when we started to have our first ripe produce.

We also rented a cabin on the Mountains.
