***Happy New Year***

2011 came without us taking much notice of it, but here we are! Part of the reason for such a thing is that we arrived from Brazil on Thursday night (Dec. 30) and were too tired on the day after to think about "reviewing" 2010 and set new year resolutions for 2011. That will still come, but for now I will focus on our recent trip to Brazil.

We left on December 10 and the 12-hour flight went fairly well. The boys even slept a bit (it was a night flight)! After visiting some friends in Curitiba (where I used to live before coming to the US) we headed to Cascavel, where my family resides. We had a wonderful time there with family and a beautiful place to stay, the house of one of my mom's friend. It is a nice property in a preserved area, so we were surrounded by the intense Brazilian green vegetation.

Andrew was exposed to many different things which enhanced the experience for him. One highlight is that he learned how to pedal a bicycle and it was fun that it happened in vovo's house (my dad). He also enjoyed interacting with his cousins and new friends. He learned the Brazilian way to play - hard to explain, but let me put in this way, kids play a little wilder there. He liked it!

Isaac's teeth popped out during our stay. So, he went with 4 teeth and came back with 8! Besides, his canines are advancing fast too. He also started to drag through the floor (not exactly crawling yet, but definitely makes him mobile) and continue to improve his cruising - which he started even before the trip. So, I still don't know if he will master crawling first or just go straight to walking.

Both our boys are proving to be very communicative. Andrew learned some Portuguese during the trip and Isaac has started to point and make more sounds, which makes it really easy for us to know what he wants.
